Saint John Catholic School has an educational program that meets both the curriculum set by the Diocese of Charleston and the requirements of the South Carolina State Department of Education. Strong emphasis is placed on the core academic skills of reading, writing, language, math, science and social studies. Additionally, programs of religion, music, art, physical education, library science and computers are offered.

Eighth-grade students who successfully complete the algebra course requirements are entitled to a high school credit.

As an extension of the religion curriculum, students participate in outreach projects and service opportunities within the school and local community.

Saint John has adopted the "Circle of Peace" program, with goals to educate, motivate and empower students and teachers to act against violence. The Pledge of Non-violence is a part of our belief system, policies and practices. Discrimination, in any form, is not tolerated. Upon accepting the Peace Pledge, students add their handprints to the Circle of Peace on the main school hallway wall. Please look at our photo gallery for pictures.

Students also may participate in our award-winning FIRST LEGO league team.
