Reach for the Stars - our 2007-2008 Auction is over! March 1, 2008 was a starlit night of fun and festivity! A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped with and attended the Annual Auction -- it was a HUGE success!

Piece of the Grace Memorial Bridge

Own a bit of old Charleston history – this piece of the Grace Memorial Bridge includes a Certificate of Authenticity guaranteeing that it is indeed an “Official Artifact” signed by Robert F. Clair, Jr., Director of Engineering, Cooper River Bridge Replacement Project.
Pair of Seattle Oysters original sculptures by Paul Hill, constructed from stainless steel and heated copper, each measures approximately 2“x2“x 5“. Valued at $600

Beautiful Oak Roll top computer desk. Includes ingenious features for a computer. The front middle "drawer" is actually a slide drawer for your keyboard. What appear to be drawers on one side is a false door which hides the work station. Valued at $800.

2002 Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar gently used. Signature Tom Delonge model in surf green with a Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker pickup includes SKB hard shell case and Dunlop “Straplock” system. Donated by an SJCS Family.  Value - $650

Item # GC-01201 - Our first donation to the 2007/2008 Annual Auction was graciously offered by Triangle Char and Bar. It is a private dinner for 10, including wine, at your location cooked by Chef Tommy Clayton. This is minimally valued at $1000.

One week's stay at Bear Creek Lodge (4BR 4-1/2 bath) in the Tennessee mountains near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It is a non-smoking luxurious 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath lodge with outdoor hot tub, game room, wooded views, a spring fed pond and a small creek. Sleeps 12 in its 3 king beds, 2 queen beds & sleeper sofa. Some of the class auction projects:

K4/K5 Class Project - "The Little Engine That Could" concrete / glass inlay garden bench with hand made sock monkey they created!
1st Grade Project - “Cookies and Brownies” in Hand-Painted Jars with Two Aprons. Jars are filled with all the ingredients you need for yummy treats (recipes included). The aprons are also hand painted by the students - one for an adult and one for a child. Everything the dessert baker needs to get some sweet treats on the table!
2nd/3rd Grade Class Project - Garden Ensemble - hand made stepping stones, decorated edging, frog sculptures and a bag of gardening necessities.
Large Garden Arbor - constructed of pressure treated lumber, under the direction of Betsy Dalton, and secured with all stainless hardware and signed by each student, includes star garden ornaments designed and painted by the students.
6th Grade Class Project - Beautiful SJCS-themed  quilt featuring our school colors and seal.
7th Grade Class Project - Vintage Decorated Journal Box - Measuring 13"X11", this wooden lap desk features decoupage, with painting by the students. Can be used to write and store letters, start your own journal, collect memories, and tuck away treasures.
8th Grade Class Project - "Eco Friendly Green Rugs" woven from jute by the class. The students diligently researched their project.

Leonard School of Music will be providing live entertainment during the auction with a 23 member jazz ensemble for the silent auction. Ian Jones from 8th grade is a member of the ensemble. The ensemble is made up of local area students between the ages of 13 to 18 years old.

We are seeking Corporate sponsors / advertisements for the auction.  Donations are tax deductible. Auction Donation forms may be picked up at the office or completed online and printed for submission with items / services / sponsorships.

Advertising:  Ads for the Auction Booklet are $25 for business card size; $50 for 1/2 page and $100 for a Full page.  Deadline is Feb. 22 to be included in the actual booklet (there will be an addendum sheet for submissions after this date).

Sponsors:  We have three levels of sponsorship. In return, for your belief in St. John, your name and company will be listed in our Auction booklet, on the backs of our event shirts (if received before Jan 25th, 2008), linked from this web page and displayed on our Corporate Wall of Honor.  The levels are:
Platinum – A donation of $1,000 plus
Gold - A donation of $600 - 999
Silver - A donation of $300 -599
